Cappadocia is a vast region in Turkey with surreal volcanic rock formations, underground cities, cave houses, and churches. The rippled valleys and ‘fairy chimneys’ are a sight that is best seen from the skies. [Scotty Graham][1] and his wife Kartika were among the hundreds of tourists who enjoyed a balloon ride that covered the mountain ranges of Melendiz, Erciyes, and Hasan. Graham photographed his experience during sunrise for the hour-long ride. “The feeling of flying so quietly in the air, and floating wherever the wind takes you, gives you a sense of freedom that perhaps only an eagle truly understands.” Cappadocia was officially named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.
