Every year for the past 30 years, the Chinese city of Harbin has their [Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival](http://www.icefestivalharbin.com/). Famous buildings are replicated from ice and snow by artists from all over the world. The festival attracts a million visitors a year. The building material for the construction of this ice town comes from the Songhua River. The workers extract ice cubes that each weigh 550 pounds. The festival officially opens on January 5th and lasts until the end of February. Visitors who stop by right after Christmas can watch sculptors chiseling their creations. 80% of the sculptures are finished and it’s interesting to see their progress. Night time is the best time to see most of the buildings which are lit with multi-colored LED lights.
This Entire City Is Made From Ice… Just Wait Until You See It Up Close.
