Israeli Prime Minister Plans To Name Town After Trump. March 31, 2023Leave a comment

On Tuesday, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, made an unexpected announcement to the world. In an effort to honor the president of the United States, Prime Minister Netanyahu is planning on naming a town after Donald Trump.

According to NBC News, Netanyahu wants to give thanks to Trump for recognizing the Golan Heights as Israel’s territory. “I’m here on the beautiful Golan Heights. All Israelis were deeply moved when President Trump made his historic decision to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights,” said Netanyahu.

The Israeli Prime Minister continued by saying: “Therefore, after the Passover holiday, I intend to bring to the government a resolution calling for a new community on the Golan Heights named after President Donald J. Trump.”

Just this past March, President Trump became the first United States president to recognize the Golan Heights as a territory of Isreal. The Israeli people took control of the land from Syria in 1967 during the Six-Day War.

In 1981, Israel annexed the land, but it isn’t recognized by most of the governments in the world. Trump’s decision to recognize the Golan Heights isn’t the only thing that the president has done for Israel’s benefit.

In December of 2017, the Trump administration made the announcement that the United States as a country would recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. In May of that same year, the United States opened an embassy in the newly established capital.

Last month, Trump wrote in a tweet: “After 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel’s Sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is of critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel and Regional Stability!”

Still, Trump’s decision to recognize the Golan Heights means a lot to Israel because Syria is still trying to contest the territory, even though it happened over 50 years ago! Even before Trump decided to recognize the Golan Heights he was considered “the most pro-Israel president ever” by an expert on the Middle East, Daniel Pipes.

Despite Israel’s feelings about Trump, the president is still being accused of stirring up “anti-Semitism,” which is pretty ironic when you look at one of the strongest voices of the Democratic Party: Ilhan Omar. For months and months, Omar has continued to offend people with her insensitive words.

Just recently, Omar shocked the nation with her disgusting comments about 9/11. Not to mention, her comments made at an event for the Council on American Islamic Relations, which has ties with terror organizations like Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. Oh, and don’t forget her anti-Semitic comments about American lawmakers who support Israel. Needless to say, the Democrats should look at their own people before they point fingers at the president.
