The republic of Turkey is a hidden gem. Tucked between Europe and Asia, this country is both ancient and modern. The largest city in the country, Istanbul, boasts of stunning landmarks such as the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Black Sea. For their latest adventure, the people behind Matador network spent one week in the city formerly named Constantinople. Visiting the Grand Bazaar, the largest in the world, to observing the mystical practice of Sufism, proves this is a place that needs to be explored. Istanbul is centuries old but the filmmakers managed to condense this metropolis into a two-minute clip of everything that makes it beautiful. They do, however, admit not everything in this famous Byzantine megacity was included. That just means we may be tempted to buy a flight ticket to see and experience the rest of Istanbul for ourselves.
