IKEA is synonymous with ready-to-assemble furniture, kitchen appliances, and home accessories. But the Swedish-founded multinational furniture retail company is so much more than that. Aside from making the lives of customers a whole lot easier, one IKEA store is going above and beyond the call of duty and helping some adorable four-legged friends stay warm during the chilly weather. To do this, they’ve opened their doors to stray dogs and provided them with shelter, and so much more. In the process, they’ve proven to the world that IKEA not only offers friendly service with a smile but with lots of love too. So, take a look and prepare to have your heart melted.Martine Taccia was shopping at an IKEA store on a rather chilly day in autumn and was shocked when she found a couple of dogs living it up and getting cozy in the living room display area of the store. Taccia found the situation confusing but also adorable.

The dogs were strays who came in from the cold. Taccia discovered that IKEA allowed the homeless dogs to take refuge from the chilly weather outside. But the employees provided much more to them than shelter.

Some of the customers who walked into the store have fallen head over heel in love with these stray pooches. So, it’s no surprise that some of the dogs ended up going home with the a few of the customers. And this has made the IKEA employees very happy.

Another customer by the name of Beppe Liotta was glad to see the store taking such a wonderful initiative. Seeing the dogs in the store filled him with a sense of joy the moment he walked into IKEA, and it seems that other customers felt the same way.

In the past, the retailer joined forces with Home For Hope to run a campaign that encouraged the community to adopt animals. They even placed cardboard cutouts of dogs in need of a home in each of their stores.

Stray animals are often overlooked by society. But if other stores opened their doors to strays, it wouldn’t just save these pooches from the elements.

**It would also increase their odds of finding a forever home. Now that’s an endeavor worth rooting for, don’t you agree?**
