Artist James Charles started working on his latest series *American Iconomics* in 2010 when he began transforming the faces on dollar bills into monsters and celebrities. After accidentally spending some of his pieces, he decided to stop carrying them around and started collecting them. James found materials and ink to perfectly match what the U.S. Mint uses on the bank notes to alter the script and font along the bottom of the bills.
