For most people, their first time witnessing a baby being born will be of their very own. Most typically don’t have the option to watch another delivery happen as the delivery room usually only permits essential people to be present. However, this was not the case for 12-year-old Jacee Dellapenna. Not only did she get to watch the beautiful birth of her newborn baby brother, she got to participate in the actual delivery! The delivery room is typically only occupied by the mother delivering and the father for support.
Instead of waiting in the waiting room, she was in the delivery room while her baby brother was being born. But hold on, it gets even better.
The photos captured young Jacee assisting in delivering her newborn baby brother.
When daughter Jacee was asked if she wanted to step in and help with the delivery process, she initially declined the offer.
As Jacee’s mother, Dede Carraway, recalled the doctor eventually asked Jacee if she wanted to deliver the baby.
Jacee actually wanted to be in the delivery room a few years prior when the middle son, Zaydn, was born. However, the parents decided Jacee was too young at the time.
Jacee experienced an incredible moment that she’ll remember forever.
“I started crying because I thought I wasn’t going to get to see him be born, because I was too short,” Jacee told MS News Now.
She instantly replied with astonishment, “What? No!” Nonetheless, she proceeded to put on scrubs and a pair of latex gloves.
Her father, Zack, was able to capture everything on camera. Dr Wolfe even instructed Jacee on how to cut the umbilical cord.
In a later Facebook post, we could tell Dede was a happy mommy when she wrote, “I have the most AMAZING doctor!”
Yes, it was an amazing moment but Dede also feels that this event will serve her daughter in a powerful way one day.
This is actually very true for most American women who experience their first birth. Although many fear of the pain that comes along with it, the experience truly is beautiful.
“I actually, like delivered him, like, he let me actually push down and pull the baby out,” Jacee said.
“I was like, ‘Wow, like I’ve played fake doctor before,’ but this is, like, the real thing, this is the real deal. I was really nervous.”
“She’s definitely changing interests,” said Dede. “She’s very into the whole thing since the birth.”
She was amazed with the whole story and was overwhelmed with joy in her heart.
“I have chill bumps looking at her reacting. She will love that brother even MORE because you let her be part of this. My heart is going to explode!”
Although the pictures did gain a lot of attention, it wasn’t until after a certain someone shared the post, that it went viral.
Since June 7th, the post has generated more than 169,000 shares and over 189,000 likes. Welcome to the world, little one!
