Jim Carrey is an actor who hit stardom in the 1990’s with his comedic and slapsticks films like *Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb* *and Dumber*, and *The Mask,* among others. During his movie premieres, the Canadian was a proud dad who loved to bring his daughter Jane along with him. Although, she didn’t follow her dad’s career choices, Jane is still paving her own path.Her dad was still a struggling actor trying to make it in Hollywood. Jim Carrey was born in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada.

Her parents married on March 28, 1987. The union didn’t last as the couple divorced in 1995.

Jim Carrey wanted to be in show business so bad that when he was 10 years old he sent his resume to Carol Burnett to be part of her show. Unfortunately, he was turned down.

When Jane was 15 years old her mother went to court to ask for more than the $10,000 she was receiving a month in child support payments. Melissa Womer argued that it was not enough to raise Jane who at that point had told her mom she wanted to get into show business.

During a low point in his career the Canuck wrote himself a cheque for $10 million for “acting services rendered. He dated the cheque to Thanksgiving 1995. At the height of his career, Jim was demanding a mere $25 million per movie.

She has said being the daughter of someone famous is a catch 22. “The last name definitely helps and hurts,” says Jane.

Jim Carrey admits his own demons caused a lot of issues with past relationships. He gave up using Prozac because, “it may have helped me out of a jam for a little bit, but people stay on it forever. I had to get off at a certain point because I realized that, you know, everything’s just OK.”

Her song of choice was Bonnie Raitt’s “Something to Talk About.”

Some of the contestant argued that Jane never camped outside like the rest waiting for a spot to audition. There are claims Jim Carrey’s daughter had an appointment and just showed up for her audition.

Randy Jackson asked her if her dad knew she was there. Jennifer Lopez remembered meeting Jane when she was a fly girl in the TV show In Living Colour where her dad was part of the cast.

“I feel like there’s kind of this pressure to maybe be better, because if I make it somewhere, I run the risk of people saying ‘Oh you only got there because of this,'” explains Jane.

At the time of the audition she was working as a waitress.

She gave birth to a son on February 26, 2010, named Jackson Riley Santana.

Carrey tweeted upon the arrival of the baby, “Jackson Riley Santana, My Grandson, Born today! This is what 7lbs.11oz. of California dynamite looks like!”

Jane filed for divorce from her husband on October 2011, although the couple had called it quits 10 months prior.

The musician got nervous while performing Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Looking Out My Back Door.”

“I talked to my dad and he was kind of comforting. He said ‘I’ve been said no to a bunch of times’ and it worked out for him, so hopefully I have a shot,” says Jane.

“I’ve always wanted to be a mother and I’ve always wanted to do music, so to have the two together, it’s just awesome. It’s a dream come true,” explains Jane.

Despite her dad’s wealth and accusations of nepotism, Jane says she supports herself financially.
