There are many abandoned dogs living on the streets. They have no permanent home nor source of food. Joey was living on the streets of Los Angeles. He was rescued and taken to an L.A. area shelter. Unfortunately for Joey, the shelter he was taken to is a high kill shelter. He was covered in dirt and his hair was matted. Many animals that come to the shelter in this condition never get the chance at adoption and are euthanized. Joey got a second chance at life.
