When I Heard About A School Quartet I Was Skeptical… But Then They Started To Play.

When I Heard About A School Quartet I Was Skeptical… But Then They Started To Play. March 22, 2017

The video you are about to watch will literally give you goose bumps. One does not need to be a music teacher or an expert to recognize the brilliance and talent of these prodigious eight year olds. The Joyous String Quartet from the Joyous Music School in New York, have taken the school’s mantra of approaching “music as if they were an artist, not a student.” Their rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” leaves you speechless. The group has been playing together since they were four years old, performing approximately 20 times a year around the globe. You may recognize the Cellist Justin Yu. He wowed daytime viewers when he appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show last fall. The troupe has become quite the YouTube sensation playing their repertoire of classical music and even Katy Perry thrown in the mix. This group is one to watch.
