Bretagne is the last-known living search and rescue dog that worked at Ground Zero in New York on 9/11. The canine and her human handler Denise Corliss were dispatched from the Texas Task Force 1 and worked with 100 other dogs saving people from the rubble of the World Trade Center. Last month, Bretagne turned 16 and had a chance to return to New York to celebrate with Corliss. [BarkPost][1] threw a birthday party for the old girl which included a suite at 1 Hotel Central Park, a visit to the Hudson River Park and a vintage taxi ride through Times Square. To top it off, Bretagne received a Tiffany & Co. sterling silver bone pendant, toys, and lots of delicious goodies. Bretagne continues her work as a service dog. She sits and keeps elementary school kids with learning disabilities company while they learn how to read. [1]: http://barkpost.com/dogs-best-day-bretagne/
