Soon, the pope will be headed to Philadelphia for a highly-anticipated visit, and to give a mass. To honor his arrival, a local priest has done something unprecedented as well: He’s built the Vatican, entirely out of Legos.
The Rev. Bob Simon spent 10 months constructing over 500,000 Legos in the likeness of the Vatican, including St. Peter’s Square and Basilica. The model includes crowd members (including Simon himself), and high up on the papal balcony, a tiny Lego pope presides. It’s pretty amazing to look at, and we’re sure the pope will be as impressed as we are. See more of the story in the video below.
