The lemur is an animal with a treasure trove of interesting facts swirling around its existence. For one, they come from the exotic, somewhat mysterious island of Madagascar. Their name derives from the word *lemures*, which means “ghosts or spirits” and refers to their role in some Roman mythology. They’re also primates, but somehow, they evolved independently from monkeys and apes, and their characteristics are incredibly unique. And, in addition to all of the fascinating, scientific facts about lemurs, they’re also pretty damn adorable. This video of a group of lemurs stretching their arms out to greet the sun proves that. We respect the fact that they’re wild animals, but after seeing this, we secretly want one.
