There is always the one house in everyone’s neighbourhood who puts a spectacular Christmas light display. The Johnson family from San Antonio, Texas, has been wowing neighbours and local residents with over 7,000 lights set to music since 2013. Mathew Johnson said he initially began doing the light show for his kids. He realized quickly, the light exhibition was making people happy. “With so much negativity in society it’s nice to have something positive to entertain people,” explains Johnson. It takes a lot of planning and preparation to achieve such a production. The modern-day Griswold begins working on the display as early as March. Despite the huge number of lights used coupled with music, Johnson says that he uses LED lights, therefore, not consuming a lot of electricity.
