Lil Wayne’s BLM Comments Earn Him A Fitting Reply From Rapper T.I., Asks Wayne To ‘Stop Embarrassing Himself’! April 1, 2023Leave a comment

Lil Wayne has been controversy’s favorite child. The hip-hop artist has been in the news every now and then and, generally, not for the best reasons. He has been involved in several feuds with other artists like Young Buck, Jay Z and Pusha T. He has also been involved in various legal issues as well. Criminal possessions of a weapon, possession of substances and substance abuse have been some of the charges against the rapper from New Orleans.

The rapper walked out of an interview with Linsey Davis of ABS News because he was allegedly fed up with the line of questions. During Tuesday’s Nightline, the interviewer asked Lil Wayne about his thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement. To which the ‘Lollipop’ artist replied by saying that he didn’t know what it was.

He said “it’s somebody got shot by a police officer for a f*cked up reason.” He further went on to say that he is “a young, black, rich motherf*cker” and that was proof that America knows that black lives matter these days.

On Nightline, he continued by saying that he didn’t feel connected to the BLM movement and “if you do you are crazy as sh*t.” These comments have irked a lot of people and drawn a lot of flak from artists all over the country.

In a post featuring a video clip of the interview, the Atlanta rapper wrote, “I’m at a complete loss for words here.” He wrote about how he and Wayne have known each other for a long time. “Our relationship outside of music is what makes me sensitive to your disposition,” wrote the No Mediocre star. “I KNOW you wired a bit different than most other responsible adults, but still n***a U TRIPPING!!!! I don’t know what you goin thru,or what you are attempting to avoid but this s**t is absolutely unacceptable!!!!”

He also said that Weezy is ruining his legacy and that he will inevitably have to face the consequences of his actions. “You’re disrespecting yourself, bringing shame on your family name & tarnishing your legacy. You have children (including mines prior to now) that have looked up to you. You have sons & a daughter that depend upon your leadership.”

Several celebrities have spoken out against what has been alleged as racial discrimination against African-Americans in the US. Tip is known for making very intelligent comments about such issues. In his post, he reminded Wayne that all his materialistic achievements meant nothing if he couldn’t stand up for their people.

“Our people are being oppressed!!! We are being hunted, captured & slaughtered out here daily!!!” Tip also wrote that he was there to help Wayne and is willing to help him understand about the BLM movement if need be.

“I’ve been proud to call myself a fan & a friend of Lil Wayne, but if that must end in order to stand up for those who can’t do it for themselves…So be it. If you’re not prepared for a question in an interview, say ‘No Comment Bro.’ But stop embarrassing yourself & everyone out here who’s been supporting you. There is no middle ground. Oppression knows no neutral party, either you’re part of the oppressed, or you with the oppressor. There is no such thing as oppression not affecting you. It’s #USorELSE out here.”
