When we are children we learn to follow instructions. If you followed all the instructions that were given to you by your elders, you were considered a good kid. There is nothing wrong with this; most kids did what they were told regardless of whether or not they were good in attempt to avoid their parents’ wrath. Some of these kids, however, grew up to follow instructions a little too much. And when we say too much we mean literally. They take the directions they were given and do exactly what they say. These are the people you want to avoid using sayings or metaphors with.
