These photographs have been circulating the internet with the claim that were taken using macro-photography: That is, an astronomer was able to take an extremely close up photo of a star, star cluster, or comet that makes the object look larger than we would normally be able to see it. While it may sound amazing, a little bit of research has led to the conclusion that these photos haven’t been captured using macro-photography. Like so many other things on the internet, the idea of macro-astronomy photography seems to be a rumor, and these photos were actually created using tilt-shift and blur effects in Photoshop! Feel cheated? Don’t! These photographs are still **super awesome.**
