Just ask one man who had contemplated ending his life over ten years ago. Then, a guardian angel in the form of a gorgeous woman talked him out of it by helping him to choose living over dying. Now, over a decade later, he decided he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. You have to admit, this is the kind of stuff that real-life fairytales are made of. Sorry Cinderella, but you have nothing on this beautiful couple.The high school senior from Chicago felt isolated, odd, and alone from his fellow peers, and for that matter, the rest of the world. Eventually the loneliness had become too much, some might say, unbearable. Those closest to Kevin knew that he was quite analytical, which meant that when he set his mind on something, he went right ahead and did it.
He began to toy with the idea of suicide in his head. Eventually, that wasn’t enough, and he decided to just go for it and put a stop to the pain and suffering he was experiencing. So, he wrote a goodbye note, and then went to where he was planning on ending his life.
Kevin got a call on his flip-phone just 10 seconds before he was about to commit suicide, but when he looked at his phone, it said it was an unknown number. He could have ignored the call, but he was afraid that if he didn’t answer, he’d spend an eternity in the afterlife wondering who it was that called him.
Kevin had met Blake during a Michigan Bible camp, and they had become friends since she complimented him by saying that black was a good color on him. But the two hadn’t spoken in a year. So, when he spoke with Blake, it felt like someone cared, which was exactly what he needed to get over his depression.
But Blake managed to talk him out of it. Since then, they stayed friends and despite dating other people, they talked on the phone… a lot!
By September 17th of that year, about ten years after that phone call that saved his life, Kevin and Blake got married and their relationship continues to thrive over a year into their marriage. May they live happily ever after.
