Parents know when their child is different. Whether it’s possessing a special talent, smarts, or is athletic, something about that kid makes them stand out among everyone else. Sonya Whittaker admits her son Campbell is not your typical 12-year-old. Three years ago he asked his mom if he could buy Christmas presents for sick children in the hospital. His mom said no as it would cost too much money. Undeterred by her decision, Campbell decided to take matters into his own hand; he took up sewing. Campbell set out to make one teddy bear a day. The preteen from Tasmania, Australia, not only hands them out at local hospitals but he also sends them to the victims of terror attacks in Paris and Brussels. “He jumps every hurdle, he puts light in dark situations, he’s magic,” says Whittaker. The family estimates Campbell has made over 800 bears in three years.
