But those closest to her would say that she was a completely different person before she met and married Prince Harry in 2018. For starters she was a Hollywood actress long before she was a princess. Her dad, Thomas Markle, was a lighting director. So, he brought Meghan to the set of “Married… with Children” every day after school for 10 years. But since her dad didn’t want his daughter exposed to the hilarious adult contents of the sitcom, he sent her to work at the craft services room.

When she was 11, she wrote a letter to influential people like Hillary Clinton. A few days later, Procter & Gamble changed their slogan from “Women” to “People all over America.” This was the result of a dishwashing commercial aimed at women that didn’t sit well with Meghan.

When she was at the university, she landed an internship at the US Embassy in Argentina. She was 20 at the time and driving around in a motorcade in Buenos Aires. Every year she would shoot a pilot, but didn’t land anything until she was finally cast in “Suits.” But most people forgot she was on the popular game show “Deal or No Deal.” She was number 26 and stood uncomfortably in five-inch heels hoping for someone to pick her number, but no one ever did.

“Suits” was shot in Toronto, Canada, and since Meghan played a paralegal named Rachel Zane, she spent eight months there every year. She even rented a three-bedroom, two bathroom home in the Seaton Village area.

Meghan had to stop blogging on her personal blog as royal protocols would forbid her from spilling the tea on her everyday life. The royal family is very sensitive about their privacy and their image, and rightfully so!

In 2004, Meghan married producer Trevor Engelson after dating for six years. They had a lovely four-day beach wedding event in Jamaica. But then, Meghan landed a role in “Suits” and flew to Toronto. Some claim that the long distance ruined the marriage and led to the couple’s 2013 divorce.

Just like Rachel Zane, Meghan loves to cook and try new things. The writers of the show ended up taking a page from Meghan’s book and incorporated her lifestyle and her eating habits into the show. It added a personal touch which made fans even more enamored with her character.

If Meghan’s craving some gum or a Big Mac, she can’t just step outside on her own and drive to the nearest McDonalds. In more ways than one, Meghan is the media’s meal ticket, so the paparazzi are always on the prowl. Even if she’s only going shopping, Meghan has to be accompanied by an all-female security team. Wow!
