When one thinks of Australia, the notion of skiing doesn’t readily come to mind. However, if you replace your skis with watermelon and replace the snow with…well, watermelon, you’ll find yourself right at home in the Australian town of Chinchilla. Every two years, Chinchilla holds its famous [Melon Festival][1]. The festival lasts for four days, and during that time festival-goers suit up in their old clothes to go frolic in sticky watermelon muck! There are events for melon throwing, seed spitting, and yes, melon skiing! [1]: http://www.melonfest.com.au/
