Every season, there’s a new beauty trend that surfaces. Whether it involves makeup or hair, there seems to be many popular fads that come and go. If you haven’t heard of it already, mermaid hair has become a very popular hit lately. Mermaid hair is hair with multiple pastel and/or ocean like colors beautifully blended in. Although the term itself sounds like it’s only for long luscious hair, the look can actually be achieved on hair of all lengths (as long as you’re not at a pixie cut).

My M E T A L I C creation. For the Base I used- 7SM + one ribbon of 1N and a few dots of blue booster. I only applied it 1 1/2 inches out of the roots. The Mids I used 8SM with blue booster and I added a generous amount and only applied it about 2 intches out from the root color. As for the ends I used @vividartistichairdesign technique she taught me at her vivids class to create the colorful ends. I used 4 different colors to melt into each other 10Sm with red booster, 8SM with violet booster and @kenraprofessional direct dye In blue mixed with clear, and teal mixed with clear.
I let it process for 30-40 minutes then I rinsed and olaplex her hair. I towel dried her hair and went over everything with 10SM with violet booster. It took me 2 days to lighten her hair from virgin black hair to platinum blonde. Patient’s is a virtue. All of the colors used were permanent mixed with 7vl, except for the creative kenra colors.
