Okay, so we didn’t do it, someone else did, but we’re talking about it cause it’s simply amaze-balls, and we totally wish we’d come up with it ourselves! So after years of butter a plain burnt piece of toast, are you ready to try something that is insanely good?She has taken the concept of conventional toast to a whole new level of weird, but in a good way. After all, if multicolored mermaid hair is a trendy thing, why can’t the same principle be added on to toast?
All you need is some cream cheese, regular or almond milk cream cheese will work just fine. You’ll also need some spirulina powder, some chlorophyll drops, and of course, the obvious, a piece of toasted bread and a butter knife.
Blue green algae powder might sound gross, but it’s actually not that bad at all or Adeline wouldn’t be using it in her cream cheese to make all kinds of oceanic swirls to her toast.
Is it practical to play around in the kitchen? Absolutely! How else are you going to get something as rainbow colored and pretty like this.
It’s more of a trial and error kind of an experiment to create different pigmented colors, bit by bit, until you get the results you want.
Just start swiping the different blues and greens in a motion that mimics the waves of the ocean, and then add some edible gold leaves to give your toast some pizazz.
You can find gold leaf, bagel seasoning and everything else you can think of, including cucumbers to give your toast a makeover that seems like you ordered it from a galaxy far, far away.
Adeline uses items like beet juice to turn the cream cheese into the most breathtaking shades of hot pink, but uses other ingredients to get the colors that give it that Care Bear stare look.
She wanted to make food far more fun and exciting by brightening up one of the most common breakfast items in the world, and she certainly surpassed that goal. You can even mix and match between different designs, if you’re not late for work that is.
Adeline often uses vegetables like cucumbers to put on top of her toast. But she also uses avocado and shapes them with a melon baller or carves them with a knife to give these veggies an ethereal under the sea look.
Sure, you can tell yourself that you’ll only eat this just once, but once you take a big bite out of your mermaid toast, you’ll cross a line you won’t be able to come back from.
But that’s okay because at the end of the day, coloring in cream cheese won’t change its taste, and it will all come out the same color at the end of the day.
You can turn it into a very cool toast by turning the cream cheese into a healthy veggie spread with a wide array of vegetables like avocados, and if you decide to do away with the healthy by adding a little salt on top, we won’t judge you.
