You may have seen something as simple as a strawberry a million times before, but we can assure you that you’ve never seen one like this. British photographer Rob Kesseler manages to capture the microscopic details of various fruits and flora, using a lens so strong that it manages to make something found in nature look like a highly-detailed painting of something from outer space. To create this effect, the original image is covered with a fine coating of gold, then scanned and photographed using an electron microscope. Then, the images are enhanced with photo editing software to create the brilliant, vibrant, and otherworldly work you can see below.
