This year’s Christmas advert by British supermarket Sainsbury’s has put itself in the lead as one of the best. German-born British writer Judith Kerr has brought back Mog the cat. Her feline is starring in “Mog’s Christmas Calamity.” In the story, narrated by British actor Emma Thompson, Mog wakes from a nightmare only to discover smoke coming out of the oven. Mog realizes she has to work quickly to rescue her family and home. The fur ball accidentally dials the fire department and manages to spill or break just about anything she comes in contact with. Despite Mog’s best effort, the house is left in disarray, leaving the family heartbroken that Christmas is ruined. This is when neighbours begin to show up to share their own Christmas with them. This video is another tear-jerker. Watch for Kerr’s appearance, as a character who suggests a medal for Mog.
