Once, a friend of mine told me that he was traveling in Southeast Asia when he came across a monkey on a path. It started to rain, and my friend grabbed his umbrella from his bag. The monkey looked up at the sky, put his hand out to feel if it was really raining, and then *grabbed a large leaf from a tree to cover his head with.* Until I heard that story, I had never been so utterly floored by the evolutionary miracle that is the human race. Seeing this monkey and his puppies, with whom he acts as caring and tender as any human child would, made me feel the same. His little hands petting the pups are just the *cutest.*
