Meet Nathan The Beach Cat Who Loves Swimming In The Ocean. October 20, 2019

Say the word water in front of a cat and he’ll freeze or high tail it out of there. Purr-suading your kitty to take a bath is more difficult than getting a 2-year-old to do what you ask. Water is just claw-ful to kitties, but it doesn’t have to be. It turns out that once they get their claws wet, they actually like the water a lot or at least, one cat does.

Her name’s Nathan and she simply can’t get enough of the beach. We’re serious. Here’s one kitty who has defied thousands of generations of aqua-phobia and decided to go for a swim in the ocean. It’s a hilarious reaction for us, and a paw-ful experience for them. Just ask Nathan, a female cat with a manly name, who has no issues chilling out by the water.

Since her owners, Rian and Mel started Nathan’s account, the kitty has been posting photos and videos of her a-mew-sing adventures on the shores of the beaches in Australia.

She plays, she swims, and splashes in the water, and then she takes photos to please her 46,000 Insta-followers, and shame her feline brethren by proving to them that they’re all a bunch of scaredy cats.

->**Rian and Mel are never far behind in case kitty gets into trouble in the water.

In fact, most times, Rian serves as Nathan’s lifeguard, which undoubtedly cemented the bond between pet and owner. But the way they came into each other’s lives is pretty heartwarming.**<-.

Can’t get enough of her, she’s one powerful swimmer. Thank you to @buzzfeed for the article on Nathan.

Fur-tunately, someone found her in a box by a highway, where she’d been abandoned and tended to.

Eventually, Rian and Melissa adopted the fearless rescue cat earlier this year.

But then Rian and Mel took her out to enjoy the beach for the very first time and Nathan didn’t want to feel left out.

So, the couple allowed her to join them in the water, where she started paddling like a poodle.

->**Over time, Nathan continued to perfect her swimming abilities, and she’s only getting better.**<- Most cats would hesitate at the mere sight of water, but Nathan has gotten so good at swimming and hanging at the beach that she has even learned how to dive into a surf.

How claw-some is that?

She’s feline superior to all other cats and now that she’s conquered her fear of water, there’s no meow-tain high enough that she can’t overcome, except maybe for a ferocious dog.

Her love for the beach has grown by leaps and bounds and she hates to say goodbye to the water.
