Robert O’Neill is a 41-year-old former member of SEAL Team Six. You have heard of them by now, they are the unit that put an end to Osama Bin Laden’s reign of terror. O’Neill is the one who was at the point when they reached the room where the terrorist was hiding and he pumped two shots into his head, ending the life of the most wanted man in the world. O’Neill has written a book called “The Operator” that describes many of his more than 400 combat missions. Of course there is a detailed description of the most famous mission of all.O’Neill tells the world about the mission that took out Osama Bin Laden. O’Neill pulled the trigger ending the terrorist’s life.

He said that once they were sure Bin Laden was inside the compound, he wasn’t sure if they would make it home alive. He said he made an effort to focus and savor every moment, just in case that happened.

They were able to get through the compound using a phrase that was rehearsed countless times. It allowed them to sneak up to the room where Bin Laden was hidden.

O’Neill took part in over 400 missions during his career. He wrote about a lot of them in his book called “The Operator.”

He gives great details about a lot of the missions he took part in, including the most famous one of all.

When they blew up a steel gate at the compound and found a brick wall on the other side, they knew they were in the right place for Bin Laden. The successful mission helped him meet President Trump.

O’Neill is engaged to 27-year-old Jessica Halpin. He said when he found that fake door he knew the team might have success on the mission.

As he moved through the compound he said that he thought “Holy s***, we’re here, that’s Bin Laden’s house. This is so cool. We’re probably not going to live, but this is historic and I’m going to savor this.” He did live and now he teaches Jessica how to fire weapons.

What first looked like it might be an unsuccessful mission turned out to be anything but. O’Neill put two bullets into Bin Laden’s head.

Bin Laden was holed up inside of this compound. The leader of Al-Qaeda was killed her by SEAL Team 6.

The rooms in the compound were filled with women and children. They were there to make enemies think they were in the wrong place.

There was plenty of protection for Bin Laden inside the compound, including his son. O’Neill said, “The woman intel analyst had told us we should expect Khalid bin Laden, Osama’s 23-year-old son, to be there, armed and ready, his father’s last line of defense.”

The analyst also told the team that “If you find Khalid, Osama’s on the next floor.” She was 100% correct. This is an overhead view of where the action took place.

Former President Obama and his team watched as the events unfolded. The point man of the team learned to say “Khalid, come here” in both Arabic and Urdu. This phrase was used to get his attention.

When Khalid stuck his head around the corner he responded “What?” At that instant he was shot in the head. The last thing he saw was this pink patch.

The team put a plan in place before actually going to the compound. The team quickly cleared room after room until they reached their target.

O’Neill said they were supposed to wait for more reinforcements but decided not to. “Our tactics said we should wait for more guys, but we needed to get up there…. And then I had a thought so clear it was like a voice in my head. I’m tired of worrying about it, let’s just get it over. It wasn’t bravery, it was more like fatigue – I’m f***ing done with waiting for it to happen.” The word spread around the area very quickly.

This is the SEAL Team 6 Headquarters at the Dam Neck Naval Annex. It’s in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and it has a 30-foot trident that was made from a piece of the World Trade Center.

The USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier is where the team brought Bin Laden’s body too. It was then brought to the North Arabian sea where it was dumped overboard. They disposed of him following known Islamic traditions.

The ship carried Osama Bin Laden’s body and dumped it in the North Arabian Sea from the deck. USS Carl Vinson officials have confirmed that they did indeed take part in the action.

The compound was no longer as active as it once was. There was no need to make it look like it was a normal place because it no longer housed the most wanted man in the world.

He got to where he was because a teammate threw himself on a couple of women, who they thought were wearing bomb vests. It turned out they weren’t though.

O’Neill said his SEAL partner did that because “If they blew up, his body would absorb most of the blast and I’d have a better chance of surviving and doing what we had come there to do.” Luckily though, the women weren’t armed.

Once he got to the right room he knew Bin Laden was there. He said he was “taller and thinner than I’d expected, his beard shorter and hair whiter.” He said a woman was standing in front of Bin Laden so he just fired over her shoulder into the terrorist’s head.

He knew what he had just done, but he wanted to make the the mission was successful. He said, “I put another bullet in his head. Insurance.”
