When Lindsay Walden visited an art gallery with a friend recently, she began to wonder if she could pay tribute to some of the greatest artists in history through her newborn photography. A lover of art, the shutterbug wanted to combine the ancient and the modern mediums together. Walden recreated masterpieces like *Vase with Twelve Sunflowers* by Vincent van Gogh, *Water Lillies* by Claude Monet, and other greats with newborns as the main subjects. Her vibrant and rich representation were brought to life using deconstructed yarn and raw wool to mimic strokes of paint. “My hope is to create something that is recognizable and celebrates the original artist while highlighting my own aesthetic,” explains Walden. So far the photographer has produced six backgrounds for her *Masterpiece Collection*. She is currently in the works for more; her goal is for the series to have a total of 12.
