Maggie Storino and her daughters wait every year for the announcement of the nominees for Best Picture from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The four put their creative minds together to recreate a memorable scene from each film for the series *Don’t Call Me Oscar*. Sophia, 5, Sadie, 3, and eight-month-old Sloane gave their own interpretations to T*he Revenant, Room, The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, The Martian, Brooklyn, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Spotlight.* The family spends a lot of time preparing for their photoshoots, from sets, costumes, and even with the young thespians wanting to know the backstory to the movies. “We start when the best-picture nominees are announced and finish a week before the Oscars,” explains Maggie. Despite the amount of work that goes into creating the photo montages, Maggie says the best part of the whole process is how much time they get to spend together as a family.
