We may be at the tail end of summer but that doesn’t mean the fun is over. One of the best things to do? Paddle boarding. While out paddle boarding with a friend in Jupiter, Florida, Celine Chasteen was greeted by a peculiar guest: a manatee! That’s right. A manatee swam right up to them and casually placed its flippers on the board, bringing the two to a fit of laughter. In one interview, she described the encounter as the “craziest thing ever.” The meeting lasted for about 30 seconds in all. Chasteen told *The Dodo* that she hopes the manatee stops by again. Check out the video below and take note of how neither of the paddle boarders touch the manatee. According to the Save the Manatee Club, to protect manatees, it is best to maintain a respectful distance and avoid touching them. They are a vulnerable species and we don’t want to draw them away from their natural habitat of warm water.
