Cats have always been extremely popular on the Internet. After all, who doesn’t love gawking at endless photos and videos of little fluff balls being cute? It makes the online community squeal and they just can’t get enough of it (us included). Well, prepare to squeal harder than you ever have because we’ve got a relatively new cat breed for you. They’re called the Selkirk Rex and their fur is uniquely curly. When we say curly, we mean poodle-like curly. Seriously, who knew it was possible for cats to be THIS shaggy and incredibly adorable?!Its fur was so shaggy, it resembled the coat of a lamb! The tweet said, “I’ve never seen a cat with curls until now.”

Not to mention, all the comments the tweet received from other Twitter users.

Another Twitter user admitted to hating cats but loving this particular one: “I hate cats but I can’t lie, I literally just fell in love.”

For starters, they’re a somewhat new breed called Selkirk Rex and are described as “patient, loving and tolerant.” According to the Cat Fanciers’ Association, the breed originally came from one particular house cat, Miss DePesto of Noface.

Jeri Newman, a local Persian breeder, was the one who found and adopted her. After she became a part of his family, Newman encouraged her to mate and breed with a black Persian cat.

As a result, only three of the six were born with Miss DePesto’s curls. The Selkirk Rex was officially declared a breed in 2012.

You would typically see a Selkirk Rex’s curls straight from birth. Of course, the longer their fur is the more dramatic and curly it is. You know you want one.
