There are amazing works of art that can be seen all over the world. You can visit the *Mona Lisa* at the Louvre, in France. Or you can head to Italy to check out the breathtaking works of Michelangelo. The wonderful thing about art is that, if taken care of, it can last the test of time. The immortality of art can continuously inspire people. Just like Michelangelo’s work in the Sistine Chapel, entire structures can become a masterpiece. Located in Prague, is one of these amazing works of art. The Klementinum Library is an extraordinary work of perfection that can be considered the most beautiful library in existence.Originally opened in 1722, it started out as a part of the Jesuit University; a college founded by the Catholic church. This particular building was once the third largest Jesuit universities in the world.

The spiraling columns and cathedral ceilings give a dramatic feeling of wealth to those who visit. You can imagine it coming straight out of a fairy tale.

The ceiling frescoes were painted by the incredible, Jan Hiebl. He also painted the figures of the Jesuit saints, whom the university was founded by.

In the center of the library are a series of globes. They are a collection of geographical and astronomical globes that the Clementine Jesuits did themselves.

In 1781, the Biblioteca Nationala was founded by director Karel Rafael Ungar. He discovered a very rare, one-of-a-kind, collection of historical books written in Czech.

Some of the world’s most famous works of literature will soon be able to be read online. It’s an undeniable gift to book lovers everywhere!
