A lot of people seem to find tall guys extremely attractive, but there’s a downside to everything, including being, well, “too tall.” For example, you can walk right into a door frame or hit your head on a chandelier. To make things worse, even your friends and your significant other may start to have issues with your height when it comes to doing certain things like taking a group photo with a bunch of average height people. Oh, and finding clothes that fit? Forget it! Also, hotel showers would probably be an issue, especially since the shower head would probably reach your navel. How would you even wash your hair? Well, recent footage was found of the tallest man who has ever lived. His name was Robert Wadlow and he could make even the tallest person feel short.His parents never imagined that their tiny baby boy would grow up to become the tallest human being on the planet. He was so tall that getting in a car was a challenge. These lovely gals standing next to him on a photo were half his size.
Most kids outgrow the need for their parents, but this kid simply outgrew his entire family… literally! His little brother looked up to him because he obviously had no choice. Wadlow probably had to be careful about swinging that arm around too.
Wadlow had probably grown taller than most humans because his pituitary gland was hyperactive. In most folks, the gland tells the body when it needs to stop growing, but in Wadlow’s case, his gland must have hit the snooze button and allowed him to keep on growing.
By the time Wadlow was 9, he was strong enough to carry his dad all the way up the stairs to the second floor of the house. Of course, that was because Wadlow himself weighed 180 lbs (81.6 kg) and was 6 ft., 2 in (1.88 m) tall.
In fact, he enlisted in the Boy Scouts when he was 13 and became the tallest scout in the history of scouts as he measured 7 ft., 3 in (2.21 m). His height might have even given him an advantage to earn some merit badges that others his age found challenging.
Wadlow had to wear custom-made clothes, and that included customized sized 19 shoes. But that’s not all. He also had to sleep in a special tent and a sleeping bag, because no regular bed at the time would accommodate his size.
But in 1939, Wadlow himself surpassed Rogan’s height. As you can tell from this image, one woman had to literally stand on the shoulders of another woman in order to be able to pin a flower on Wadlow’s suit.
Wadlow had a real rough time walking. This meant that he eventually needed to wear leg braces to move around. But even the braces weren’t enough, so he had to rely on a cane in order to walk properly.
Wadlow had a leg brace that was faulty, and this caused a blister to form on his ankle. Eventually, the blister quickly got infected, and, as you can imagine, it needed to get treated right away.
11 days after the infection set in, Wadlow passed away in his sleep. He was only 22. But as you can see from this photo, life had always been pretty difficult for the young man. Still, his family always accommodated his every need. They even modified a table so he could eat with his loved ones.
According to the doctors who examined him, Wadlow was a whopping 8 ft., 11.1 in (2.72 m) at the time of his passing. But his smile was as big as his stature and his ability to look at the positive side of things remained in the memories of those closest to him.
