The movies were a huge part of many people’s childhoods, and legions of adults also loved the complex, thrilling, and magical series. And while true Potterheads will always love the books more, there’s definitely a soft spot for the movies, too. They got better and better as the franchise went on, and the actors who played the book’s beloved characters will always be remembered for their roles. That being said, that doesn’t mean that the massive cast of the movies has sat around on its laurels since the franchise ended. And last but certainly not least, she’s become quite an activist, attending many conferences on feminism and equality across the globe.

Afshan Azad is another “Potter” actor who has a story without a happy ending. She hasn’t acted since the final “Harry Potter” film and actually was the subject of a high profile assault case in the United Kingdom. This Harry Potter star is not so on the grid these days. Afshan Azad, who played Padma Patil, pressed charges against her father and brother in 2011 for threatening to kill her. Both men were charged with assault.

After “Harry Potter,” Jamie Waylett actually has a story that features a not-quite-so-happy ending. In 2012, he actually went to jail after he participated in the England riots in 2011 — perhaps he calls himself an activist?
