Far off the west coast of Thailand lives an incredible semi-nomadic tribe called the Moken. Perhaps the most skilled members of the tribe are the children, who are said to have underwater vision that’s twice as good as children in other parts of the world. The reason? They’re trained to “see like dolphins” to make them amazing fishers. So what does that mean, exactly? It means these kids are able to spot small items (even as small as a clam), as low as 75 feet beneath the waves. For years, it was thought to be a skill unique to these Moken children, but scientists now believe that training haws more to do with it than genetics.
