For many women it’s hard to decide what to do with their wedding gown after its worn. After spending countless days and hours trying on every possible style and cut to wear it for only one day seems like a waste of money. Justi Underwood Bates knew she had to do something special with her wedding dress. She felt it was too important to just let it hang in her closet for decades. The Oak Grove, Kentucky resident sent her dress away to be made into 17 beautiful gowns to be used at hospitals. Justi shared a photo of the gowns on her Facebook account with the following message, “Today I received my wedding gown back. I sent it off earlier this year to be made into angel gowns for babies that don’t make it home from the hospital and I’ll be donating them to the NICU at Vanderbilt. Seventeen little gowns were made from my dress and as beautiful as they are I pray they are never needed.”
