Tilt-shift photography is quite a visually compelling thing to behold – perhaps that’s why this style of photography has surged in popularity in recent years. Tilt-shift gives a scene the illusion of being miniature, like a model, and is usually achieved with a special lens or Photoshop. On art student, Serena Malyon, thought that the effect could be taken a step farther: She set to work creating tilt-shift versions of some of Van Gogh’s most famous paintings. Here’s what she had to say in an interview: > Nothing in any of these paintings been added or removed or had its proportions changed. The effect is achieved simply by manipulating the light in the scene and adjusting the areas of the image that are more and less in focus, as you will see.
