[Alison Moritsugu][1] has given us a rare glimpse into the beautiful and lush landscapes of North America during the arrival of the first European settlers. The artist has given wood logs a new function by being the canvas and subject of her paintings. “I like the juxtaposition and tension created by having an image of nature on a section or sample of real nature,” she says. Moritsugu points out that as a society we have a false sense of the environment around us. We assume, “the wilderness will always exist.” Moritsugu will exhibit the series *inconsequence / in consequence* from November 12 to December 12, 2015, at the [Little John Contemporary][2] in New York.
