Flowers play an important role in every wedding. From the bride’s bouquet to the arrangements at every table, these blooms are an integral part of the celebration. Jennifer Grove use to be an event planner but she grew frustrated at the amount of garbage every wedding generated. She saw how these colourful and beautiful floral arrangements ended up in the trash after only a few hours. Grove started the company, Repeat Roses, where after weddings and other special events end, the flowers are collected by the staff. They are then delivered to hospitals, nursing homes, shelters, and cancer treatment centres. After the blooms have expired, they will be picked up and taken to a facility for compost. Not only are the flowers bringing smile and comfort to patients and staff but they are also being disposed in an organic and sustainable method. All the while, the newlyweds are sharing their joy with complete strangers.
