I love my mom. I love talking to her and hearing her stories growing up as a child. It’s fascinating to know of times where she faced great struggles and sacrifices and came out a strong and confident woman. I even try to nudge further to find out more of her silly and rebellious self. I have from time thought, if my mom was not my mom I would totally want to be her friend. As it turns out, I am not the only one who has thought about this. [Danielle Delph][1] from Portland, Oregon has asked that same question herself. The art director, however has taken this thought further and made it in to virtual reality. Delph created “If I Had Known My Mother Back Then” with photos of her mom Janis Thomas, growing up and photoshopped her own childhood photos in to the originals. The project itself took approximately six months to complete. “She said it made her cry, and she visits it everyday.” Delph also said her mom answered her question about a possible friendship if they were not related. “She thinks we really would have been friends had we grown up together.” I also think my mom and I would be best friends.
