In the western Pacific, there’s a special lake on the Eil Malk island in Palau. It’s called Jellyfish Lake because it’s filled with millions of golden jellyfish. They don’t sting and are perfectly safe to swim with. The jellyfish migrate across the lake soaking up the sunlight to provide the microscopic algae that lives in them with energy, and giving the jellyfish energy in return. In 1998, the golden jellyfish almost disappeared from the lake, but now they are back into the millions. Snorkeling with them is a top tourist attraction.
