Most of us remember our janitor from school. We may not recall his name but know the amount of time and hard work he put into keeping our school clean. Despite all the garbage during recess and lunch, the mud after it rained, and the wet and soaked boots in winter, the hallways were always spotless. A school in Nashville, Tennessee, gave its custodian Mr. Patton, a heartfelt surprise. The elementary school made thank-you cards and a poster to show Mr. Patton how much his dedication to his job and friendly personality make a difference. We should all teach our kids to say thank you to their schools’ caretakers.
