Street art gets a bad rap. It is often seen as an eyesore of non-sensical graffiti. In reality, it takes a visionary to take concrete and dull urban decor and breathe new life in to it. Vivid color and thought provoking images evoke strong emotions. Street art, over time, has been used for different reasons: to protest, to challenge the status quo and to provide a social commentary over virtually every aspect of the human condition. On other occasions, it is used as its name implies, art. Today, graffiti has become a part of pop culture, recognized within the art community as an additional medium. The beauty here is that the canvass can be a wall, tunnel, bridge or just a plain side walk. There is no limit to what can be accomplished with a little bit of paint and a lot of creativity.
