It seems that our smartphones have become an extension of ourselves. In an age where everyone claims that we are more connected than ever, technology is actually making us more isolated. [Ajit Johnson][1] is a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh: when he’s not busy studying cancer genetics, he is creating his series of illustrations called *This Generation*. Johnson exposes the dependency people have towards technology. “Everyone is Skyping instead of meeting face-to-face, and texting instead of having a real conversation,” says Johnson. His goal is not to stop people from using their gadgets but to re-evaluate how disconnected it’s making everyone. By bringing awareness, we can be more present with each other. The London based artist admits of, “being guilty of many of these posters myself, I hope this series gets the message across in a hilarious manner.” Johnson challenged himself to not look at his phone for one day. He found it difficult but discovered he was more productive without it. [1]: http://www.ajitjohnson.com/
