25-year-old [Johnny Shelton][1] wanted to be a musician his whole life: he started playing the guitar at six; the thrill of playing and singing gave him chills. He knew from an early age what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Little did Shelton know that music would be his road back after suffering a devastating loss. A couple of years ago, he lost his five-year-old son, clearly the center of his universe, to cancer. In what had to be crippling pain and grief, Shelton turned to that one thing that could restore his joy of love, something he spoke about at great length, to his son. In his journey, he penned a song called, “That’s Love.” He performed it at America’s Got Talent. The song is catchy yet profound and in the wake of tragedy, he reminds us to never lose that joy.
