The term “green thumb” comes from the fact that algae growing on the outside of clay planters can stain a person’s thumbs green – provided they handle enough pots. The idea is that a person who is constantly gardening and working with flower pots will inevitably get a couple of green thumbs, and be labeled as such. That being said, my thumbs are the furthest thing from green that any thumbs can be. Gardening doesn’t come naturally to me, and most of the time, I end up mourning the plants that I’ve killed instead of figuring out a way to help them when they’re alive. However, after reading this awesome infographic, I might just have a chance at becoming a reasonably skilled gardener. These tips are simply amazing.
