Art is everywhere. At least that is what French artist and filmmaker Julien de Casabianca set out to highlight with his [Outings Project][1]. Casabianca visited the Louvre museum in Paris last year. While there, the artist came across an old painting of a female prisoner, a picture that would serve as inspiration for a very interesting movement. Casabianca decided to reproduce this and many other paintings but instead of showcasing them in a gallery somewhere, he decided to bring these masterworks to the masses. Casablanca took pictures of the many anonymous yet beautiful works, printed off the photos and glued them in public places for all to enjoy. This ingenious idea was picked up by other artists around the world, looking to recreate the magic. Currently, 18 cities worldwide including London, New York, Barcelona and Frankfurt feature lost works in public spaces. Casabianca hopes the Outings Project will give an opportunity for those unable to visit a museum to appreciate all art has to offer. He wants people “to be touched by the emotion, by the aesthetic, by the art.” [1]: http://www.outings-project.org/
