We all know that each snowflake is unique, a fact that’s taught to us as early as grade school. But rarely do we get to see how each snowflake is singularly beautiful — and that makes the work of Canadian photographer Don Komarcechka totally compelling. Through his macro lens, Komarechka takes images that can’t be seen with the naked eye. His recent series, titled *The Snowflake*, features incredibly detailed shots of over 400 individual pieces of snow, up close and personal. According to his website, the project took over 2,500 hours spread out over five years, and the final images are absolutely stunning.
