Scientists have long suspected that the family of birds including ravens, crows and magpies called corvids are are highly intelligent. Dr. Alex Taylor studies wild birds which he releases after 3 months of research. This makes me think differently about crows, almost scary in a way, when I see hundreds of them at a time.

Here’s a crow trying to trick someone out of a frying pan. It made me laugh. I wonder what he thought he would do with it.

Some facts about crows: A flock of crows is called a murder. Crows live all over the world, except for Antarctica. Crows sometimes make and use tools. They can mimic the sounds made by humans and other animals. Crows learn to associate noises with events, especially with the distribution of food. The oldest recorded wild American Crow was 16 years old. A captive crow that died in New York lived to be 59 years old.
